Roey Shamir, music industry ace, highly skilled in all aspects of music/audio production, recording, mixing and mastering with over 40 years of professional audio engineering experience and accolades. Mixing and Recording songs that have been recognized by several Grammy award nominations from NARAS as well as RIAA multi-platinum sales and awards for many songs released by major and indie American record labels.

Roey is also an officer of the Audio Engineering Society NY Section, a 30+ year voting member of the Recording Academy. Interviewed frequently over the years for a variety of articles, and a popular guest speaker at many industry events, Roey is also noted for being one of the audio trend setters amongst recording engineer/mixers in the business.

The underground film Family Of Lovers (Madonna score mix), Above The Rim, RUN DMC’s Run’s House (theme song for the TV Series of the same name), Southside With You (Obama Bio Pic) Cherish The Day, Black-ish soundtrack, Free Willy, American Psycho 2000 soundtrack, Die Hard, Dr Suess the Grinch, Orange Is New Black, Ted Lasso, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Chasing Amy. The sound design Roey created for Information Society became MTV’s sonic sprite for over 18 years.

Background info:
Roey Shamir is a well-established audio engineer, record producer and musician, in the music industry since 1982 and at the cutting edge of studio technology since age 16. A graduate of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art, he is an officer on the NY Audio Engineering Society committee and a producer of monthly online events that aim to serve the music community by sharing knowledge with fledgling talent as well as longtime industry professionals

Roey graduated from Institute of Audio Research/ NYU and also attended Full Sail at the very inception of the University’s program for Audio in 1982.

Roey has recorded and mixed many records and some movie soundtracks as well as post on some indie films in the 80’s like The Family Of Lovers an underground film starring Madonna before she was a known superstar. Roey has mixed at the best studios in NYC, LA, Japan, Nashville, Florida, Israel and other locations. Some of the artists Roey has collaborated with include Quincy Jones, AL b. Sure!, RUN DMC, Information Society, Ronnie Spector, Roberta Flack, Robert Palmer, Rod Stewart, Joyce Sims, Mantronics and many more.

In addition to Production skills on some of the records Roey has played guitar, programmed synthesizers and drum machines, arranged vocal and harmony parts.

Roey mainly mixes unattended in his private studio in Tribeca NYC, working remotely with artists and fellow producers, mixing stereo and in immersive sound formatted for Dolby Atmos, Sony 360 and AuRO3D.
