Overview: Sweetwater Editorial Director, Mitch Gallagher, was introduced to recording when the manager of the rock band he was in loaned him a 4-track cassette recorder. He studied electrical engineering and computer science at North Dakota State University, eventually earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Moorhead State University (now Minnesota State University - Moorhead). His graduate studies at the University of Missouri in Kansas City included music composition and classical guitar.

The former senior technical editor of Keyboard magazine and former editor-in-chief of EQ magazine, Gallagher has published thousands of articles in magazines such as Performing Songwriter, Acoustic Guitar, EQ, EQ en Espanol, Keyboard, Pro Sound News, Guitar Player, Premier Guitar, Government Video, Extreme Groove, Music Technology Buyer’s Guide, Videography, Strings, M, and Microphones & Monitors. He is also the former editor of Church Sound magazine, and served as associate editor at Live Sound magazine.

His books include Make Music Now!, Pro Tools Clinic, The Studio Business Book, 3rd Edition, Acoustic Design For The Home Studio, Mastering Music at Home, and The Music Tech Dictionary. Project Studio Mastering is his first instructional DVD. His latest book is Guitar Tone: Pursuing the Ultimate Guitar Sound. His next book will be available in early 2015.

Fulya maintains a performance/production career as a progressive metal artist and an academic. She studied classical piano and composition at Bilkent University in Ankara, followed by two Master’s Degrees from the Netherlands and ITU. After working in Europe for several years, she returned to Turkey to study musicology in Center for Advanced Studies in Music and completed her PhD on metal music in 2019. Fulya is working at KV331 Audio as a mobile products manager: She vastly enjoys the flexibility, yet uncompromised quality of mobile music production and has been producing music of every genre with the mobile versions of SynthMaster and SynthMaster One.



Joe Gilder - PreSonus

Joe Gilder is a Nashville-based producer and content creator who switched to Studio One many years ago and hasn’t looked back. Working primarily out of his home studio, Joe has released over 50 of his own songs over the last decade, while also helping thousands of folks improve their recording and mixing craft through his YouTube channel, Home Studio Corner.

Greg Hosharian - East West

Musician, composer, conductor, pianist and orchestrator, Greg Hosharian began playing the piano at the age of four. Hosharian holds a bachelor’s degree in composition from California Institute of the Arts and a master’s degree in composition and orchestration from California State University, Northridge. Greg is the keyboardist for Redemption, with whom he has toured Europe and North America, opening for Dream Theater. He has also formed three bands of his own in which he plays the keyboard: Vendetta, Hosharian Brothers Band (in which his brother, Peter Hosharian, plays clarinet) and Armenian Space Station. Greg founded The Armenian Pops Orchestra in 2010.



Eric Burgess - FabFilter

Based in So Cal Eric Burgess is an artist, tutorialist, and bowler. Eric principally focus on anything audio, composition and production are my passion. Along with his Artistic and Production pursuits, Derek Olds is currently an Instructor at The Los Angeles Film & Recording School in Hollywood, and is also heavily involved in the Audio Engineering/Tech worlds. Based in New York, Joseph Chambers first began producing, recording, mixing and mastering music in 2016. Now working artists all over the country, he has experience in many genres, from Hip-Hop and R&B to Country. The 18 year old has developed an extensive discography of artists both large and small, accumulated millions of streams through his work and has been heard on the radio. Brian Kullas studied at Dickinson College to pursue a traditional music degree. He soon discovered that his real passion was electronic music production and DJing. Brian attended Dubspot Electronic Music Production and DJ School, where he was able to hone his DJ and music production skills. Brian is now the Lead US Product Specialist for Native Instruments and has been with Native Instruments for the past 6 years. Brian has focused his electronic music style on house, Trap & Hiphop using MASCHINE, KOMPLETE, and TRAKTOR.



Luis Tineo - U-He

Luis Tineo also known as Sabor (pronounced/ Saab-or) is an american music producer, music & film mix engineer & DJ. Studied in NYC at Center for the Media Arts and best known for his extensive work catalog as a sound engineer at some of the top recording studios in the NY area like the legendary hip-hop studio D&D & Chung King with credits that are considered to be iconic projects in the Hip-Hop and Dance music genres.

Tony Franco is a freelance recording and mixing engineer. Tony had cut his teeth working with artists in studios, both small and large, around the greater Los Angeles area. Tony has over half a decade of experience mixing remotely for independent artists from around the world. He specializes in working with Hip Hop and electronic pop genres, but ventures out to work with occasional singer song-writers and rock bands as well. Tony likes to work with artists and musicians on a personal level. He feels that creating a positive vibe, and maintaining open communication between the artist and mixer or producer, can nurture more successful songs.

Afterwards, we will dive into modulating the various Tone parameters within Saturn 2 to send our input signal into a distorted and resonant frenzy which will conclude in a “distortion sequence.”
