Dave Hampton is recognized for his expertise in the field of Audio Recording, Production, and Technical Design. Having maintained a reputation for creating unique solutions and excellent client satisfaction, Hampton is trusted and called upon by some the entertainment industry's biggest stars. In his role as technical director and consultant Dave and his staff have a reputation as "game changers" for many artists. Dave's client list looks like a who's who of music. Some of his clients include: Prince, Herbie Hancock, Justin Timberlake, Babyface, Marcus Miller, Ne-Yo, Lady Gaga, and M.I.A.


Thru his company MATK Corp. he offers support service for any technical entertainment need with total confidentiality. He has currently completed his Fourth book. The 2nd edition of, The Business of Audio Engineering is NOW AVAILABLE in stores and online and is mandatory text for several audio programs around the country. Dave has engineered and worked on several Grammy award winning recordings for Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock, and Prince to name a few.


Currently Dave has introduced a speaker line called REFTONE that is sold in 9 countries all, and he is the technical Director for Miles Like Inc. In addition to designing, consulting, writing, collegiate lectures and appearances, also sits on the Steering Committee of the Producers and Engineers Wing of NARAS (The Grammy Organization), as well as being a board member of SPARS (Society of Professional Audio Recording Services) and serves on the advisory board of several colleges across the country.


Dave is a product of south central Los Angeles and has been a fixture in the Los Angeles music scene for over 35 years. He is the first African American audio engineer to author educational classroom materials on this subject, And the first to manufacture his own speaker line.
