IMSTA END-USER SURVEY: To be Launched in September 2008

IMSTA is proud to announce that its long awaited End-User Survey is finally completed and ready to be launched in September 2008. The survey will stay active until the end of 2008 and will be repeated annually.
IMSTA member companies are very excited about the survey and its results since it will answer many of their questions regarding end-users’ attitudes towards music software piracy. Yes, the results will be available to all IMSTA members. This is an immediate benefit to IMSTA members and it will supplement the long-term benefits of IMSTA’s awareness campaigns.
IMSTA originally had to choose from over 60 questions provided by psychology professor Andrew Thatcher from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. IMSTA chose the questions that suited its purpose and created a test survey which was taken by some of its members’ employees. Based on suggestions given by member companies’ management and their marketing department employees, the survey was revised numerous times until the final version was created. IMSTA used as many of these suggestions as possible without making the survey too long. To encourage end-users to take the survey, the participants will be entered in a contest and the winners will receive free music software sponsored by numerous IMSTA manufacturer members.
To ensure that as many people have the opportunity to take this survey as possible, IMSTA needs the support of all its members and supporters with the launch of this campaign. As a member or supporter, the best way to help is to advertise the survey and the contest in your online and print newsletters, web sites, e-mail blasts and etc. IMSTA media members also play a big role in the success of this campaign by placing the print ad (will be ready soon) in their respective magazines and a banner on their web sites.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank every single person who took the time to review the survey and who provided suggestions that make this survey beneficial for the music software industry. Again, IMSTA is here to help the music software industry stay a viable business. If you are an IMSTA member, thank you. If you are watching from the sidelines, please show you support by joining IMSTA and helping your industry.
