MEMBER PROFILE: Interview With Philippe Guillaume

Pianoteq
Philippe Guillaume - Ramonville Saint Agne, France

Philippe Guillaume is a piano expert whose love for pianos coupled with the limitations he faced as a piano tuner drove him to create a revolutionary product called Pianoteq. We had a few moments to spend with Philippe and to get his feedback about IMSTA and the whole subject of music software piracy. Read the full interview here.

IMSTA AT WINTER NAMM - 08: "Software Day" at NAMM was a success

NAMM Software Day

Saturday January 19th 2008 was the day that many IMSTA members and supporters wore the IMSTA T-shirts and helped spread our message ‘buy the software you use.’ We are happy to say that we had more participants on this Software Day than we have had on any of the previous Software Days. Some companies chose to go all blue and some chose to do a combination of their own uniforms and the IMSTA blue T-shirts. Either way, we thank all the participants, including all the attendees who wore the IMSTA T-shirts, walked around NAMM, and helped spread the word all over. Let us also thank those who could not wear the IMSTA blue T-shirts due to company policy, but were with us in spirit. View Photos Here ...

IMSTAR OF THE MONTH : Music Marketing

IMSTAR

An IMSTAR is a company or individual who helps IMSTA voluntarily. Often, IMSTARs do not have a direct interest in the music software industry. However, a member who goes beyond basic membership duties may also receive a star and become an IMSTAR. The IMSTAR of the month of March is Musikmesse. This is the third time that Messe has provided IMSTA with a complementary booth to help spread the word in Europe. Thank you Musikmesse.

2008 IMSTA MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL: Important Message to IMSTA Members

MESSAGE

In January, we sent the 2008 IMSTA renewal invoices to all our members. A lot of the members have renewed their memberships and we would like to thank them. For those who have not done so yet, please remember that IMSTA is a non-profit association with no products to sell and no other means of obtaining funds to pay for its expenses and campaigns. Therefore, it is just as important for us to collect the 2008 membership dues as it is for us to follow-up with our 2008 anti-piracy campaigns. If you have not received your 2008 IMSTA renewal invoice, please contact us at 1 416 789-6849 or via e-mail p.fattahi@imsta.org . Thank you for your support.

MEMBERSHIPS: To Join Up or Renew Your Membership
uncle

IMSTA is the best and only advocacy program the music software industry currently has for fighting piracy. We are fighting piracy on levels that go beyond the obvious. We are trying to change behavior. In order to do this we need a few simple things done by tens of thousands of people - yes, you are one of them. To start, we need you to join IMSTA. To do this, fill out our Membership Application Form. Next we do need you to pay your membership dues for 2008. This is a small but vital contribution that you will make to our campaign. We use your money to pay for the things that we can't get volunteers to do. If you haven't paid yet, please do it now. Finally, we need you to begin the process of implementing the program in the Industry Member's Guide. For starter, put the IMSTA Badge on your web site. This is as easy as 1, 2, 3. One thing for sure is that we cannot succeed without you.

See you next month.
